The flagship project of celebrity chef and campaigner Jamie Oliver, Fifteen seeks to train unemployed young people in the arts of cooking and serving food, and launch them into a career in the industry – essentially it’s an apprenticeship scheme, named for the first fifteen apprentices who were taken on. Ingredients are seasonal and come from suppliers in the UK and Italy, and the menu features antipasti, fresh fish dishes, chicken with panzanella as well as more obscure offerings such as Sicilian octopus stew. The vibe is upbeat, the decor bright and modern, and the food consistently great. Plus you’re eating for a good cause – what could be better?
