North Wales
Dominated by Snowdonia National Park, North Wales can lay a fair claim to being one of the most dramatically scenic regions of the UK – and, if you've never been, it really doesn't disappoint, laying on an epic list of natural attractions and historic curiosities across the historic counties of Conwy, Gwynedd, Denbighshire and Flintshire. Naturally the mountain landscape dominates in this part of Wales, but the rugged coastline is worth visiting too, as is the offlying island of Anglesey, the largest island in England and Wales, connected by bridge across the Menai Straits. As an area that's been welcoming visitors for decades, there is no shortage of places to stay in North Wales, not least some spectacularly situated cottages and glamping sites, and plenty of cosy B&Bs, pubs with rooms and cool hotels, whose owners are proud of where they live and will always help you discover the best things to see and do.
