Red Dragon Holiday Cottages @ Bryn Dinas

Located in the Nantgwynant valley at the base of Snowdon, just a stone’s throw from the attractive adventure village of Beddgelert, Red Dragon Holiday Cottages couldn't be better placed to explore the spectacular countryside of Snowdonia. Located set on privately owned mountainside woodland, just a few hundred metres from the start of the Watkin Path to the top of Snowdon, it's a dream spot for hikers, bikers and explorers, and these rustic yet luxurious  stone cottages are the perfect base for taking in the best of the region. Throw open your door in the morning, grab a cuppa and soak up the amazing views – it's a stunning location!

There are four cottages in all – Sygun, Tryfan, Snowdon and Aran. Tryfan is perfect for 2 (though it can sleep up to 4), while Sygun comfortably sleeps 4 in 2 double bedrooms. Aran can sleep up to 10 people in 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, while Snowdon sleeps up to 7 in 3 bedrooms. Dogs are welcome in all 4 properties and 3 of the 4 cottages have big fireplaces with wood-burning stoves, private patios and wifi. Kitchens and bathrooms are contemporary and extremely well-equipped and bedrooms are furnished with comfy beds with feather duvets and pillows.

The Bryn Dinas site is also home to 2 very comfortable family lodges – 'Dragon's Den' and the  'Maple Lodge' log cabin – both of which can accommodate 4 people. These have superb views, en-suite bathrooms, open-plan living spaces, verandahs with their own barbecues, and dogs are again welcome at both. There's also a dog-friendly bunk cabin - 'Dragon's Lair', which also has its own bath and kitchen facilities and can sleep 4, along with 8 cosy glamping pods which sleep 2 apiece in proper twin beds, with 4 self-contained bathrooms a short walk away (with lots of hot water), and a courtyard barbecue area with picnic benches and a communal kitchen with microwave, toaster and fridge.

With no fewer than six paths to the Snowdon summit and mountain-biking in the nearby Beddgelert Forest, you'll never be stuck for something to do at Bryn Dinas.  The stunning beaches of the Llyn Peninsula and Anglesey are close by too, and Beddgelert itself is a lovely place to stay, with four pubs, all serving food, and a great café for massive breakfasts just a few hundred metres from the site.
