Ciné Lumière is an independent showcase for the very best in French, European and world cinema. Launched in 1998 by none other than Catherine Deneuve, it screens a mix of new releases and classic films, as well as regularly holding events such as premieres, retrospectives and themed seasons. The auditorium has been recently refurbished and is beautifully spacious compared with many of London's cinemas. There are more than 900 screenings each year and every film is shown in its original language with English subtitles.
