A stunning, elevated, timber-clad family holiday home makes the most of its favoured location overlooking Sennen Cove, with its fine, sandy beach, sweeping bay and surf vibes. This really would be one for beach bunnies – a step away from the sands, the water and the surf centre, and with a ground-floor wet room and walk-in shower to take care of things after a day on the beach.

The rest of the accommodation is just as well thought out – and beautifully designed to take advantage of the views and sea air. A stylish, open-plan lounge and dining rooms sits under wooden beams, with French doors opening out onto a glass-fronted balcony with far-reaching views. There's surfboard and beach gear storage out here too. The self-catering kitchen is fully equipped for making meals, there's a log-burner in the lounge, and a washer-dyrer down in the utility room on the ground floor.

Bedrooms, meanwhile are on the upper floor – a master bedroom with more terrific sea views, and a bright and airy twin (give that one to the kids). The family bathroom is plenty big enough to cope, with a bathtub and hand-held shower – and there's always the ground-floor shower room to hose off sandy feet. Unusually, for small seaside villages, you've got two dedicated parking spaces at the front of the house – a real bonus, especially if you're coming and going during the day for trips and shopping.

It's not all about the beach, though it is mostly about the views in these parts. There's a fabulous three-mile coastal walk to Land's End, where you can contemplate the end of England and the roaring ocean beyond, while the coastal footpath keeps going in both directions – this really is a terrific location for anyone wanting to see one of the most spectacular coastlines in the UK. Sennen Cove, meanwhile, has a cafe, fish and chips, and a seaside pub, and more country inns and farm shops within easy driving distance.
