Choose between the appropriately named Beachside and Cliff Cottage. The lower of the two, Beachside Cottage, is an architect revamp of an original cottage on this site, with four double bedrooms, two of them en-suite, a large kitchen-diner, lounge and dining room, plus a uniquely spacious outside terrace overlooking the beach, equipped with an outdoor shower, sun loungers and a large dining table for al fresco evening meals. You'll want for nothing inside either – the lounge has an expansive flatscreen TV with Sky Sports/Movies, good wifi and the kitchen everything you could need and a little bit more, including a dishwasher, steam oven, coffee machine and even a built-in wok unit. A utility room has a washing machine and tumble dryer and a Butler sink for soaking your swimwear, while there's also a games room with table football and a pool table. They really have thought of everything.
The second property, Clifftop Cottage, is equally impressive, an architect-designed house built into the cliff above, which makes the most of the stunning views over the sea, beach and surrounding coastline. It's equally well equipped, with good wifi, Sky Sports/Movies, a Sonos sound system and the same high-end kitchen appliances – dishwasher, double oven, a large American style fridge-freezer, coffee machine, washing machine and dryer and much more. There are three double bedrooms, each enjoying gorgeous sea views. A 70m balcony runs right around the property and has a barbecue and large dining table, sunbeds and sunshades, plus there is again an outside shower for rinsing off after the beach.
Quite honestly, it would be hard to imagine two more perfect properties if you're looking for a beachside holiday in Cornwall – or a much better location: Portreath is a satellite of workaday Redruth, and far enough off the main tourist route to be relatively peaceful, even in high season, yet within easy reach of lots of west Cornwall highlights, including St Ives, Falmouth and the old mining town of St Agnes. Not that we recommend you stray too far. With this level of comfort and an idyllic position by one of the Cornwall's best beaches, there's really no reason to go anywhere. Just park your car in the designated spaces, toss your keys in a drawer... and relax!

Portreath is an unspoilt Cornish village that is a fabulous mix of the local community and never gets too busy, even in the height of summer. There is easy access to most parts of western Cornwall, with wonderful places to visit such as St Ives, Falmouth or the Lizard Peninsula no more than a 30 minute drive away.Food & Drink

If you are looking for 5* luxury located so close to a Cornish beach you can almost touch the sea, Smugglers Cove Cottages are what you are looking for. Two unique architect designed houses, with fabulous large seafront outside areas for dining and lounging in the sunshine. Beachside sleeps 8 adults comfortably, plus a futon bed for a child sharing one room and Clifftop easily sleeps 6 between 3 double rooms. Free parking for up to three cars per house.

We’d love to return
A series of perfect moments is what we’ve experienced here at Cliff Top, very sad to leave such a beautiful spot. We’ve had so much fun on the boards, seal spotting and simply admiring the views, so glad we finally made it here after lockdown cancelled the trip in 2020. Thank you for looking after us so well, we’d love to return.

We love this house. We would love to stay longer. The house and the beach are beautiful, we would love to return one day – sooner rather than later. This holiday has been amazing. Just the break we needed. I have had no reason to go anywhere, we have just enjoyed the view every minute of the day. Your house is beautiful in every detail and your help and advice through the week has been brilliant. A massive thank you for everything. We are gutted we are leaving, we will be back.

Incredible house. Incredible location
The house, host and location were all second to none. Large enough to cater for 5x adults and 3x under tens, the house is the envy of the beach. Access to the beach is less than 30secs wander and only a couple of minutes walk to a cluster of amenities (The Hub Cafe being the highlight). David has been a very attentive host, easy to get hold of and quick to respond. I can’t recommend this place enough.
