Not just an important gallery for Falmouth, but actually one of the most prestigious in Cornwall, Falmouth Art Gallery opened in 1978 and houses work by a number of major 20th-century British artists, including Francis Bacon, Frank Auerbach and many others. As well as these famous pieces there are regularly changing temporary exhibitions that make the best of both local and national artists. Check online to see whats on while you're there or just pop you're head in for a wander around, its free and worth the time.
