Newquay is as lively as it comes, and Fistral Beach is a world-renowned surf magnet, but it’s nice to know that you can do both in style in a chic seafront apartment. Three selected properties, in the same building but each with their own character, add a welcome touch of class to a stay in one of Cornwall’s premier resorts.

For larger groups and families, the four-bedroom penthouse makes the most of its location, with uninterrupted views of the beach, headland and sea. It’s a bright, light-filled, contemporary place, with big French windows leading onto a large, glass balcony. There are four bedrooms, including two en-suites and a bunkroom, a separate family bathroom, and a gorgeous, designer, open-plan lounge and kitchen-diner – and space for a full-size table football game too.

The other two apartments have two bedrooms each, and don’t enjoy quite the same elevated ocean views – one has partial sea views and the other is a ground-floor apartment with a private garden. But both are only a few minutes’ walk from all the beach action, and again, are very nicely turned out in a contemporary seaside style. You’ve got open-plan living and al fresco dining at both – it’s particularly handy to be able to open the doors onto a private garden or a corner lounge balcony and take in the sea air.

As for facilities, the kitchens in all apartments are well equipped for everything a family might need, while hairdryers, iron and ironing boards, washer-dryers and the like are all supplied. Private parking is limited to one car only at two of the apartments, drop-off only otherwise, but there is on-street parking nearby.

At each apartment, you’re as much in the thick of Newquay things as you want to be – a short walk to beaches, dunes and cliffs, a stroll from some excellent restaurants and bars, or a toddle back to your luxury, private apartment for a sundowner drink with style.
