All have terrific sea views, some from Juliet balconies, others from Sky Decks. Outside, the Surf Shack offers a handy place to hose down and securely store guests' boards and wetsuits after days on the beach. When you’re done there head into the Atlantic Bar and Kitchen which occupies the ground floor and serves Harbour beers from their own brewery alongside a carefully chosen selection of wines, cocktails and mocktails. Family-sized 20-inch pizzas are a speciality but there's also sharing dishes, pastas and great desserts on offer — it’s open all day and just as good for breakfast and lunch.

The beach is, of course, the big attraction here, and, to be honest, it's the only one you’ll need. Build sandcastles, swim or learn to surf with Wavehunters (who offer guests a discount), take paddleboards out, practice yoga on the sand or simply eat ice cream and gaze at the view. All are part of the daily routine here at Polzeath Beach House, whose super-fast broadband and admin back-up make it a perfect place to work remotely, too. When you're done, it’s a 10-minute wander across the sand or along the clifftop path to the village, where there's plenty of dining, drinking and shopping opportunities. Or you can decompress by taking a hike on the South West Coast Path to explore along the North Cornish coast, heading towards Trebetherick Point and the delights of Daymer Bay to the south, and Pentire Point and The Rumps to the north. Polzeath is at the northern pinnacle of Cornwall's 'Golden Triangle' with Rock, home to the St Enodoc Top 100 golf course, and the foodie harbour town of Padstow making up the other corners.
