FAQs: Remote Cottages

What facilities can I expect in these remote cottages?

There are a few properties here that are off-grid, for example Laggan in Scotland or Solomon’s Island in Cornwall, and so are ideal if you really want to get away from it all. Others, like Leskernick Cottage in Cornwall, are easier to reach and have more facilities but are still pretty remote, while there are many, many other places that are wonderfully remote yet with all the facilities you need for a comfortable stay, including gas and electricity, heating and hot water, a fully fitted kitchen, bathroom facilities and even wifi in most cases!

Are pets allowed in these properties?

Most of these properties allow pets and are perfect places to take a dog, but always check with the owners first as occasionally there are restrictions due to local wildlife.

Are these properties equipped with modern amenities?

Most of these remote cottages comes with the same modern amenities you would expect anywhere. Bear in mind too that some of these properties feel remote – for example The Nest or Upper Barn, both in Sussex– while at the same time being relatively easy to reach.

Are there any remote cottages by the seaside?

Some are by the sea – for example – Ecotone Cabins or John O’Groats Luxury Lodges, in Scotland, but even more are set by the water, for example Waternook in the Lake District or Blackbird in Devon.
