A spacious and stylish end-of-terrace holiday cottage, Maristow Cottages is a perfect place to base yourself if you're looking for a decent-sized holiday let in Devon. Not only does it comfortable sleep 5-6 people in 3 bedrooms, it sits on the rather wonderful Gitcombe Estate in south Devon, just outside the South Hams village of Cornworthy, where the benefits include a two swimming pools, a sauna and steam room, tennis courts and a children's playground and indoor games room.

First the cottage, which has a very large and light living area with a vaulted ceiling and a cosy log burner that you won't want to leave. Above there's an additional mezzanine space with a sofa bed - good as a play area, a quiet place to read or an additional sleeping space for one – plus there's an extremely well-appointed kitchen and dining area. The three bedrooms are on the same floor so it's a very accessible property: one is an en-suite twin bedroom that can be made up as a double, plus there's another cabin-style twin room for kids (perfect for under-12s) and a small double room for one adult; both of these share the family bathroom.

The house is so comfy you could spend a lot of time here, just lazing about or exploring the many and varied facilities on the Gitcombe estate. You are also in a highly desirable part of the South Hams, just a few minutes' inland from Dartmouth and Blackpool Sands in one direction and the busy market town of Totnes in the other; Dartmoor too is close by, as are Salcombe, Bigbury and the beaches at Hope Cove and Thurlestone. In short Maristow Cottage is a superb place for a Devon holiday of any description.
