Here's a gorgeous little luxury seaside bolthole in the hip harbour town of Brixham – perfect for a couple looking for some coastal downtime. It's a contemporary, timber-clad, eagle's-nest of a holiday property, set high above the harbour and with a spacious glass-fronted, decked terrace that nestles among the Brixham rooftops.

Walk-through doors open onto the deck from lounge and bedroom, so the sea and harbour views feel like they're very much part of the apartment. It's beautifully furnished throughout in natural tones, with white and wood to the fore, giving a sort of New England feel to the property. The living area is open-plan, with dining area, sofa and smart TV, and  what's described as a 'functional' kitchenette – which means that there's no cooker/hob or over, but there is an air-fryer, microwave, toaster and coffee machine. The thinking is you'll mostly be spending time down in Brixham's excellent cafes and restaurants, just a step away, and using the apartment for breakfast, snacks and terrace drinks – there's some very nice outdoor furniture where you can make yourself comfortable and soak up the sea air.

 There's just one bedroom, with a calming feel, a built-in wardrobe, wall-mounted TV and direct access to the terrace. The adjacent bathroom is lovely too, with its walk-in rain shower and twin sinks. There is use of a washer-dryer in an adjacent building. The only thing you don't have is your own parking, but there are several town car parks within a five- to ten-minute walk away.


The location could hardly be better, right in the middle of this picturesque old port, with its colourful hillside cottages and fishing boats in the harbour. You're a minute or so's walk from the waterside – for al fresco drinks and fish and chips – with the nearest beach around a ten-minute walk away, and several others just a little further. Berry Head lighthouse, nature reserve and the coastal path are close at hand too, so you'll find plenty to do in this very attractive corner of South Devon.
