If you've ever dreamed of escaping to the country for a full-on Enid-Blyton-type adventure, complete with lashings of ginger beer, then the Enchanted Faraway Tree is the sort of place that will appeal – a unique treehouse pod set amid the captivating Kent countryside whose glass-domed interior is a perfect place for star-crossed couples to fall asleep under the stars and wake up refreshed beneath a canopy of fluttering leaves. Consider too that on a good day it's less than an hour's drive from London and you may well start planning your trip!

Whether you come for a week or a weekend, it's a very cute place to stay, with its own small kitchen, a log burner too to keep you cosy, plus a magical secluded garden with an open-air shower for two and a wood-fired hot tub for unwinding at the end of the day. There's also a barbecue and fire pit for dining alfresco on warm evenings – all in all making for about as fairy-tale an experience as you could imagine while still in Kent!

The Enchanted Faraway Tree is extremely popular, and it's easy to see why. Once here, you might not want to leave. But just in case you do, there's a pub nearby and lots of walks in the surrounding woodlands, plus Canterbury is just a stroll away down the hill. You can also follow the popular Crab & Winkle Way to Whitstable from here, with its pubs, seafood restaurants and indy shopping, and the rest of the North Kent Coast – Herne Bay, Margate, Ramsgate and Broadstairs – is just a short drive away.
