You can hire a canoe, kayak or stand-up paddleboard along the secluded waters of the River Stour just outside Canterbury.  The Canadian style open topped canoes take up to 2 adults and 2 children (under 11) and they provide the paddles, buoyancy aids, dry bags and informative route map.  It’s just down the road from a great cool campsite Nethergong and it’s a great thing to do with the kids at the weekend or summer holidays.  They also do learn to canoe courses for kids and adults to give them their first qualifications in canoeing, as well as group paddles and guided canoe tours. The courses they run are Kayak and SUP Taster Sessions as well as British Canoeing Paddle Start, Discover and Explore Courses and Guided Tours including their Evening Sunset Wildlife Safari and Early Bird Morning Paddle. The location of their sites are Fordwich and The Grove Ferry Picnic Site, CT3 4BP.
