This excellent, independent backpackers’ hostel in a suburban house, 10–15 minutes’ walk from the centre of Canterbuty has a sister hostel in Brighton. It has private rooms (with tea- and coffee-making facilities) as well as multi-bedded dormitories, and facilities include free wi-fi, a communal kitchen, lounge/dining areas, a pool table and large garden – in which you can camp in summer. There's no curfew, and continental breakfast is available for £2.50. Welcoming and secure, and in a good location.
