This West Sussex barn conversion makes a fabulous place to stay for a family or large-ish group: luxurious, peaceful and stylish
You may think you've died and gone to heaven if you rent this beautifully renovated Barn, nestled among the oak trees amid the 17 sumptuous acres of Honeybridge Estate in West Sussex. It's a special property: cosy yet contemporary, with high-end decor and furnishings and access to a host of on-site activities and facilities, and it makes a fabulous place to stay for a family or group – luxurious, oh-so-peaceful and brimming with style.
Contemporary meets country-classic, it's the perfect rural refuge, with exposed oak beams throughout, contrasted with pristine white walls and high-spec facilities, including Smart TVs, Sonos speakers, well-kitted-out kitchens and comfy bedrooms. It's an upside-down property, with living spaces under the eaves and bedrooms on the ground floor. Contemporary amenities include a very well-equipped kitchen with a large central island and a large, bright and beamed open-plan living space that opens out onto a modern terrace, where you can sit and enjoy the views of the pristine Sussex countryside that surrounds you. At ground level, there are four bedrooms, each delightfully named after animals you're likely to encounter on the estate during your stay – Pheasant, Rabbit, Stag and Duck. There's also a spacious family bathroom with a separate bath and shower. Pheasant has a king-size bed, a TV and an en-suite shower room. Rabbit features twin beds plus a further pull-out, and has sliding doors that lead to the terrace and gardens. Stag has a comfy double and direct access to the grounds, while Duck contains triple bunks and a small bed suitable for a toddler. If you need more space, there's Woodpecker – an open mezzanine floor overlooking the living area with a pull-out double sofa bed.
In case that's not enough, there's Honeybridge itself, which only has two other properties (The House and The Cottage) and tons of facilities, from the estate's very own fishing lake – which is also safe for open water swimming – to the games room, equipped with a snooker table, table football and a wide selection of board games and toys. There's also a tennis court, football and basketball nets, and even a cricket pitch and croquet lawn. If that all sounds too much, then just recline in the hammock and admire the sweeping views. Finally, there's really no need to, but if you do want to leave, you're in a lovely part of Sussex, with plenty to do nearby.
