Thoughtfully restored three-bedroom property in Arundel, West Sussex

Quaintly positioned above a bookshop in the centre of Arundel is The Collector’s House, a one-of-a-kind spot with a deceptively large footprint. Sleeping up to six guests across three bedrooms, and with two bathrooms and two floors, there's much to take in.

The property dates back to the 16th century, and in years gone by, was a public house, then a thriving antiques store. What's more, word has it a priest hole existed during The Reformation, plus a passage directly to Arundel Castle. Back in the present day, the home blends history and original period features with contemporary comfort. From the front entrance, make your way up the staircase to the spacious living and dining area, then through to the sleek, fully modernised kitchen with eye-catching dark blue and white units.

Upstairs are three well-proportioned bedrooms (a capacious king-size master, king, and twin) and two thoughtfully designed bathrooms (one with a shower and bath, the other with a shower). A small step across the landing and you reach the snug – the perfect hideaway to relax with a book or catch up on your favourite TV series. You'd be forgiven for thinking there's no outside space, but, in fact, guests have access to a patio.

The prime location on Arundel's picturesque High Street speaks for itself – head out for a stroll and visit the many antique shops and the Gothic cathedral. You'll also find a diverse array of restaurants, nine pubs and a brewery. Plus, you're only 15 minutes from the South Coast at Littlehampton, within easy reach of the Goodwood Estate and Chichester, and half an hour from Brighton.

As one of the oldest properties in Arundel, The Collector's House is a unique spot indeed. If you'd like to make your stay even more special, the friendly team at The Butler Collection is on hand with concierge services.
