A design-led hotel on the Cornish coast with the flex and freedom of your own space
SeaSpace is a design-forward hotel on the Cornish coast, offering high-finish top-spec studios and apartments and just a five-minute walk from Porth Beach. The well-designed sea-view rooms overlook the Atlantic from a cliff-top location on the edge of Newquay, and a kitchenette in every space means you can make your own meals if you choose, but the café and restaurant downstairs mean there’s always an easier option. Plus, there’s the indoor Art Deco Miami-style pool, complete with an ocean-view hot tub, and a separate toddler splash pool. Additionally, you'll find gardens, kids’ play areas (inside and out), a games room, a maze, padel courts, and a state-of-the-art gym, and they partner with the local surf school. Whatever you’re looking for from your holiday in Cornwall, you're likely to find it right here.
The completely refurbished space by the sea is family-friendly and welcomes people with dogs, as well as locals and work trippers. Indeed, the facilities and large gardens are a bonus for all types of guests. Most apartments are studio-style, but the large ones offer a separate bunk bedroom for kids. There are also two- and three-bedroom apartments for families or groups of four or six to spread out in, including accessible options. All are decorated in vibrant block colours, look fresh and modern, and have superfast WiFi and Smart TVs. And the waterside location is, of course, excellent.
SeaSpace really feels like a hotel tuned in to today’s tastes. Indeed, it's a little bit different from other seaside spots, with a 'community-first' approach designed to appeal to guests and locals. It has a busy schedule of workshops, exhibitions, live music and film viewings that can be enjoyed by both, and an overall vibe that's welcoming, contemporary and inclusive. Food-wise, Tallo, the Italo-American eatery, serves small plates, pasta, pizzas, cocktails and craft beers, while the café, located in the inviting lobby space, offers barista coffee, freshly baked pastries, breakfast, brunch and light lunches.
Porth Beach is a five-minute walk downhill and sits on the north edge of Newquay. Watergate Bay is a half-hour stroll (five-minute drive) and the best place to catch the surf. And if you’re not confident with that yet, sign up for those lessons you’ve been meaning to have – this place makes it easy. In fact, everything is a breeze. You can have an early breakfast for the kids in your room and a leisurely coffee in the café. Once you’re ready to get going, drive 10 minutes into Newquay or hit the road in the other direction for a day trip to Padstow or the Eden Project, both about half an hour away. And when you get back, it’s your choice – board games and a relaxed dinner in your room or the restaurant downstairs.
