This elegant Georgian B&B, with just two guest rooms, is a tranquil bolt hole in a quiet corner of Islington. Filled with artfully presented antiques, old paintings and well-loved books, it's both informally elegant and very cosy – what could be more relaxed than preparing your own breakfast, in your own time, from a selection of morning goodies in the modern, well-equipped kitchen? As for the bedrooms, the double room, facing the front, is huge, light and extremely comfortable. The single, though simpler, has a view over the pretty back garden. Sadly there’s no space to sit outside, but the house is moments away from leafy Arlington Square should you want to relax with a book and a coffee. The swish modern guest bathroom is down two flights of stairs, which might seem like a drawback. But at these rates, and in these surroundings, it's a small price to pay.
