North Norfolk luxury B&B whose owners have thought of every detail to make your stay more comfortable.
This wonderful Norfolk B&B ticks a lot of boxes. It's in a beautiful location, midway between the North Norfolk Coast hotspots of Brancaster Beach and Burnham Market, a lovely flint-and-white Georgian mansion whose owners seem to have thought of every detail to make your stay more comfortable. The rooms are luxurious and well-equipped, with indulgent bathrooms and contemporary yet cosy furnishings; they serve delicious breakfasts in a bright and sunny garden room; and if you have a large party and something special to celebrate, you can have the place all to yourself if that's what you prefer. Perhaps best of all is the attention to detail throughout which makes staying here such a pleasure, from the books and homely touches that greet you at every turn to the soothing colour palettes of each guest room and the warm reception you get from the friendly team when you arrive.
The White House's 12 rooms (11 spacious doubles, 1 duplex suite) are an almost perfect blend of traditional comfort and modern amenities. Each is different – some have high, vaulted ceilings, some have views over the gardens, others the countryside or tennis court, while a couple are large enough to accommodate a family. But they all come with super-king-size or king-size, ultra-comfy Hypnos beds with silk duvets and goose down or allergy-free pillows, Sky and Google Chrome TVs and Roberts radios, super-fast WiFi, tea- and coffee-making facilities with nice teabags and Nespresso machines, and bathrooms that are right up-to-date, with underfloor heating and lovely 100 Acres toiletries. Most have spacious walk-in showers and a few have baths with showers (the suite has a free-standing bath in the room and a separate shower). Two of their bedrooms are dog-friendly, and you're very much left alone if that's what you want – but on the other hand, the friendly team is always on hand to provide advice and ideas on what to do in this beautiful part of Norfolk – and believe us, there's lots.
Though to be honest, the White House is so alluring you may not want to go far: there's a sitting room to relax in with squashy sofas, an honesty bar, and they have their own tennis court and gorgeous walled gardens. Food-wise, there's Acre at The White House to enjoy, serving French-inspired evening meals Thursday-Saturday and 'classics suppers' Sunday-Wednesday. To drink? They have their own vineyard that produces award-winning wine: Hawker’s Hill Pinot Noir, Bacchus and Solaris. It's worth knowing they run 'Big Sky Art' courses for budding creatives keen to capture the stunning surroundings on canvas. They also provide a dog welcome basket with treats, a towel, water bowl and poo bags, and nearby Brancaster Beach is pooch-friendly, so your animal companion can run free for absolutely miles. All in all, the perfect spot for a tranquil weekend break on the North Norfolk Coast.
