New in 2012, this is a great new self catering option, housed as the name suggests in the station master’s house of a still working station – so one advantage is that it's very easy to get to on a Scotrail train! It's also been converted very impressively, with two double bedrooms and a twin, as well as a kitchen with granite worktops, dishwasher and a dining space for eight – making it perfect for families and groups. Evenings are best spent around the log-burning stove in the living room, which also sports a flatscreen TV for wet weather days. And when it's dry, a swathe of southern Scottish scenery awaits, with the Southern Upland Way long-distance footpath running right through the village.
