Cabins at The Coach House

Tucked in a small orchard of apple, pear and plum trees, between The Cotswolds and The Malvern Hills, is where you’ll find Cabins at The Coach House. Although there’s more than one beautifully-crafted cabin, the entire place is just for you. One cabin houses your accommodation, the other is your private, wood-fired sauna — and there’s a wood-fired hot tub too. All are clad in cedar shingles which gives the place a Nordic folklore charm that — together with the lovely setting — can’t help but make you smile. In fact, according to owner Danny, the first glimpse of this glamping hideaway for two, often brings about an involuntary exclamation of “oh wow”.

You’ll get that first glimpse as he or his partner Adey lead you from the parking by their house, through their garden to the tucked away, quarter-acre orchard that’s all yours for the duration of your stay. In spring, the trees are in blossom; in summer you can pick fruit from the trees; and, in winter, frost makes the whole place sparkle; it’s lovely all year round. The ambience is, perhaps, even more enchanting at night, when the place is all fairy lights and fire. There’s a hammock, a fire pit, loungers and outdoor seating on a large deck that surrounds your curvy cabins.

These are Iglu Huts, designed and handcrafted in Estonia. Step inside, and you find yourself warmly cocooned: the cabin’s whitewashed walls are insulated and there’s heating too. At one end, there’s a well-equipped kitchenette and an en-suite shower and flushing loo. At the other, there’s a king-size bed made up in Egyptian cotton bed linen under a domed roof, with a seating area and a Smart TV in between. Here, you don’t have to go without just because you’re going glamping.

Danny and Adey have all the comforts covered and have thrown in plenty of extras too. You can order breakfast and barbecue packs for your stay; you can ask them to decorate for a special occasion. They’ll heat the hot tub before you arrive and they can even provide you with an outdoor cinema experience with a big screen rigged up between trees. In fact, there’s no need to leave this place at all if you’re here for relaxation. But there is plenty of temptation to do so. The Malvern Hills can be seen behind the cabin and the western edge of The Cotswolds is just a few miles away. There are two pubs serving food within a 15-minute walk and the medieval town of Tewkesbury is only a little further than that. Truly, you can have the best of all worlds in your personal luxury glamping retreat amidst the trees.
