No hesitation recommending
I was visiting Cromer with my daughter for a funeral. The staff at The Grove couldn't have been more helpful. My daughter has an electric vehicle and we were delighted that the hotel had 4 x electric charge points so we were able to hook up her vehicle the moment we arrived. We arrived earlier than expected and the hotel had already prepared our room and invited us to unwind and unpack earlier than we expected...that was lovely after a long drive. We were not expecting to have dinner at the hotel but we were very happy to have breakfast the next morning and were delighted with all that was on the menu. All fresh and the choice was endless. We had the Smoked Salmon and it was delightful and presented in a very beautiful way. The room was lovely, as a twin there was plenty of room for two and it had everything we needed from a cup of tea or coffee to a shower or bath. The beds were very comfortable, we had extra blankets should we need them but we didn't as the room was cosy. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. I have no hesitation to recommend The Grove and all its delights, especially the food! Thank you for making a difficult time more bearable! Hope to see you again one day.

Fantastic stay
Thank you for a fantastic stay at your lovely hotel. You pull off the rare trick of providing 4-star plus country house hotel service and facilities, without the stuffy formality that one often experiences at other UK establishments. The dinner was memorable and again the highest level of service, but in a relaxed environment. Your location is also perfect offering a secluded position, yet in easy reach of Cromer. Thank you again - please thank your staff for a lovely stay.

Exceptional
Lovely hotel, clean and comfortable room. Friendly staff. Good location for cycling Rebellion Way, with secure bike storage.

Brilliant glamping, cottages & fab hotel
We had a wonderful weekend here with a big group of friends and family to mark a milestone birthday. The glamping and Shepherd's Lodge were so comfortable and the children loved it (and we loved the hot tub and warm croissants ordered from the hotel). The cottages were comfortable and well equipped and dog friendly. Everything clean and well kitted out. The hotel rooms were lovely, and the breakfast among the best we've ever had. The beach is so close but even if it had rained we'd have been well catered for with the pool, woods and Cromer an easy walk. Congratulations to the owners and all the staff for running such a fantastic place.
★★★★★
Lovely short break at The Grove Hotel
Really nice room fantastic service and great food, having a swim with the pool to yourselves is a real treat. Location is fab with a short walk through the woods bringing you out onto the cliffs. Richard was very attentive and made sure our stay was perfect - thanks.

Would definitely come again
We came here for afternoon tea never having been before. We loved the house. The decor is very lovely and cosy. The service was excellent. Our waitress was very friendly and made sure we were well looked after. The vegan choices were delicious and plentiful. Would definitely come again.

We will be back
We really enjoyed our stay at The Grove, the staff were helpful & friendly, food delicious, hotel and grounds delightful. Being able to book the pool was nice, just for us, and the charms of Cromer are a 10-minute walk away.

Cannot praise The Grove highly enough
We had a wonderful evening at The Grove from the moment we walked in the door. The elegance of the hotel, the relaxed atmosphere and the exceptional food and service are first class. The chef is to be commended, to me the food was of Michelin-star quality. Delicious! I cannot praise The Grove highly enough. We shall certainly be back!
★★★★★
Excellent stay
It was an excellent stay, unfortunately our group could only be at The Grove for one night. I am sure one or the other will return at some later point in time. Beautiful rooms, very nice house, great breakfast, even the small one at a very early time in the morning was really good. Thank you very much.

Tremendous stay
We had a tremendous stay. The luxurious room was beautiful and the bed large and comfortable. The two staff members who looked after us ensured that we had an excellent vegan evening meal and were friendly and attentive. It was a lovely atmosphere at the hotel, and I enjoyed an early morning swim before breakfast. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a special occasion or weekend getaway.

Nothing amiss in a lovely hotel and that includes lovely friendly staff
There was nothing not to like. The bedrooms were cosy, beds comfortable, excellent shower, delicious food. I could go on. It was a DBB offer. It would be nice to hear of any further offers e.g. in the quiet time following New Year.
★★★★★
A lovely low-key country house, tucked away but close enough to Cromer and the sea.
The room was huge and characterful, cleverly integrating two former attic rooms for servants and a corridor with the main space. One of those attic rooms was a snug with sofa, big TV, and wardrobe space, and the other was the bathroom, with a free-standing bath, shower cubicle and basin. The loo was in a separate space off the bedroom. The public rooms have a traditional but relaxed feel and the staff is friendly and always on hand. We had booked dinner as well. The room was nicely busy and the food I would call homely but classy at the same time, with just the right amount of choices. I knew the hotel was close to the coast but I was pleasantly surprised to learn you can get to the cliffs from there without having to walk back into Cromer.
★★★★★
Excellent food and services
Very welcoming warm and friendly atmosphere in lovely surroundings with excellent food and services.
★★★★★
Lovely place, amazing food
We came here on a weekday evening and it was busy! Despite this, we were served very quickly. We had a lovely chatty waitress who was more than happy to help. Lots of food options - I'm veggie and had lots of choices. A really nice place, we will be back!

Can't wait to go back!
Their Sundown restaurant is always the best time! We went in the evening and it was so lovely. It felt so cosy on a summer evening. The food was delicious and came out quickly. There was pizza and I also had a few tapas options as I just couldn’t decide. I Couldn’t get enough! Service was 10/10. Everyone was so welcoming and it was lovely how they would come and check everything was okay. Overall, I had a wonderful time with my family and it is for sure my favourite place to eat in Cromer. Absolutely recommended for all :)
★★★★★
Another amazing stay
Had such a lovely anniversary with you. Loved our garden room we stayed in on your Sunday night offer and the food so tasty especially the homegrown beetroot dishes. Look forward to coming to stay again.

Will definitely return
We had a lovely stay in the one-bedroom house and loved the exclusive use of the swimming pool.
★★★★★
Perfect dinner for two!
We’ve visited The Grove on many occasions but felt this was probably the best meal we’ve had here. All the courses were beautifully cooked and presented and the service attentive but not overbearing.
★★★★★
Will not be our last stay!
First time staying with you will not be the last - what a pleasant and enjoyable experience. Thank you to all involved in this experience - no faults at all no bad experiences just good all round. Thank you.
★★★★★
Great overnight stay
Our room was well-appointed and comfortable. The beds were supportive and there was a good-sized, well-equipped en-suite bathroom The breakfast choice was excellent - one of the best I have experienced - and perfectly cooked. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend The Grove.
★★★★★
Wish we’d stayed longer!
Beautiful accommodation. We tried the restaurant (amazing) but didn’t have time to try the Sundown dining experience, the Massage Hut or Swimming Pool (all on the grounds). We did wander round the vegetable garden where the friendly gardener showed us round and explained how the produce is used in the restaurants on site - amazing!
★★★★★
We shall definitely be returning
Great independent hotel. Food was fabulous. Staff very friendly, professional and attentive. Decor slightly tired in some areas, however still very comfortable and we shall definitely be returning.
★★★★★
Beautifully cooked food
We’ve had many meals at The Grove but this was definitely the best so far! Food was beautifully cooked and presented and the service was friendly and efficient.

Just spent a lovely birthday weekend at The Grove. We stayed in Room 8 which was very comfortable with a huge bathroom. Family 1-night visit
Lovely Regency house with beautiful grounds and a relaxing atmosphere. V Helpful staff. Comfy lounge. Best country house hotel I have been to. Excellent breakfast.
★★★★★
Perfect place to stay
This was my second visit and my families third visit to The Grove, it's just a perfect place to stay catering for all age groups. My family has stayed in the Yurts and we have stayed in one of the cottages, I think it was The Stable and this time the hotel. Everything is so close, the walk to the beach, the town and the countryside. The food is very good and staff very helpful. We will certainly be visiting again.
★★★★★
We enjoyed every aspect of our stay
The main pleasure is the slightly quirky old-fashioned (in a good way) ambience. The Orchard room which we had was spacious, clean and comfortable. Food is good, though you have to have a ginormous appetite. We enjoyed our exclusive use of the pool, and were lucky to have summery weather, as the gardens are lovely. Staff are friendly and helpful. In fact, as soon as we got home we booked our next visit.
★★★★★
Look forward to returning
Our first stay at The Grove. We loved the peaceful setting and location relative to the hubbub of Cromer. Staff were very friendly, breakfast delicious and comfy bed. Our one-night stay felt much longer and we look forward to returning. I was able to creep out early and enjoy the sunrise!!
★★★★★
Wonderful spot
We stayed at The Grove for a couple of nights - we really thought it was a wonderful spot. The Orchard Rooms have a lovely peaceful setting but are also set out to a very high standard. All of the staff we met were friendly and helpful. The location is also great, just a short stroll to the town and a lovely brief woodland walk to views of the sea and the cliff-top paths. The real star and experience that really made our stay exceptional though was the breakfast - fantastically cooked and obviously great high-end produce, a wonderful start to the day. We'd love to come back and stay longer to see much more of Norfolk!
★★★★★
2 Night-Delight
What a fantastic find, a great place to stay and explore the east coast, set in its own grounds it's suitable for all family types. From start to finish the Grove didn't let us down. The room was lovely, clean and tidy, the bed very comfortable ( my only issue, which goes for all hotels, they never use summer duvets, it can get warm in bed), there was plenty of cupboard space too. The food at the Grove was exceptional, top quality, good portions, in both the restaurant and Sundown. The staff were excellent, very friendly, attentive and nothing was too much trouble...
★★★★★
Excellent experience staying in the Grove hotel
Booked a nights stay with meals at the Grove hotel. The whole experience was lovely. The hotel room was very spacious. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is nicely laid out and efficient and the food was excellent. The whole atmosphere is very pleasant and relaxed. I will definitely be going back and have already recommended it to my brother.
★★★★★
Excellent!
Just excellent, uncomplicated fine dining at its best.
★★★★★
Compliments to the Chef!
Hotel gave the level of service you would expect. We had a meal in the evening and the food was excellent. We eat at many restaurants so are not always easily pleased. But the food here was worth going for. My compliments to the Chef.
★★★★★

★★★★★
Excellent weekend, exceeded expectations, can’t wait to re-book
Location perfect, able to relax and leave the car behind. The breakfast was amazing, excellent choice and the taste was so good of the produce.
★★★★★
Lovely location with welcoming and friendly staff
We stayed in the dog-friendly bungalow which was perfect for our needs and comfort. Although self-catering, we still enjoyed an evening meal despite not booking. The staff were extremely helpful and in particular the night porter who took care of our needs during a medical emergency. The venue catered for our special occasion and were very attentive whilst providing a relaxed atmosphere. We can't thank you enough.
★★★★★
Great experience
Great experience, we’ve been several times and have yet to be disappointed with the service and quality of food, we also felt extremely relaxed and not rushed which was perfect for our get-together.

★★★★★
Very relaxing break in a high-quality hotel
I liked the mix of informality and high quality. Everything was perfect but without any unnecessary over-formality. Excellent service from all staff and friendly. Very clean hotel. The pizza and tapas in Sundown was a real highlight and I would recommend that highly.

Highly Recommended
The Good: From the warm welcome on arrival to checking out, a great stay, reminding us what hospitality and service actually is, communication spot on, value for money, left feeling so relaxed. Looking forward to returning. The indoor pool looked inviting. Wish I had taken some shorts. Bookable private slots of 45 minutes are available by arrangement A high point is evening dinner in the main restaurant, by far the best in the area and delicious. Not to be missed. Book to avoid disappointment. Breakfast is tip-top. The Groove is highly recommended. ... The Bad: Coming home! Nothing to comment on. Garden produce exceptional. All was good.
★★★★★
A favourite place to come
A lovely comfortable place to stay. Staff are very accommodating, grounds are beautiful. Food excellent either in the main restaurant or pizza in the Tipi. A favourite place to come. Thank you everyone.
★★★★★
Thank you so much for the lovely time we had!
My husband and I stayed at the Grove Hotel on our first and last nights during our recent few days away in Norfolk last week. We stayed in a double room in the main house and we had such a lovely time. The room was clean and nicely arranged and the bed the most comfortable in the whole of our time away. The en-suite shower room was a little on the small side but spotlessly clean and more than adequate with a powerful shower and plenty of hot water. We had booked bed and breakfast and had planned to eat in the town but decided at short notice to try and get a table in Sundown. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and arranged this with no fuss. The grounds are very pretty and it was lovely to have an evening stroll along to Sundown. The atmosphere in this restaurant was exceptional as was the service. The staff were so pleasant, friendly and helpful and the food was gorgeous. It was a lovely experience and we were so glad that we'd made our last-minute decision to eat here. As we were returning to the hotel for our final night in Cromer we had no hesitation in booking a table to eat there again and we were very happy with our decision. The food was again delicious and the service as impressive as before. In fact, the staff in all areas are an absolute credit to the hotel. Without exception, they were friendly and helpful and really seemed happy in their work.

Would highly recommend
Really enjoyed our meal at the Grove, the food was delicious and service excellent.
★★★★★
Lovely overnight stay
Lovely overnight stay, quick check in and out. Had the swimming pool to ourselves which was a real treat, due to their booking system. Dinner in The Sundown, which was fun, however my partner preferred the restaurant menu, next time. Breakfast was delicious, tester for me was real tea leaves not tea bags. Full English and the pancakes, best breakfast in a hotel, perfect poached eggs. Lovely little hotel.
★★★★★
Absolutely loved it
Close to town but quiet and peaceful, just a short walk to the beach. enjoyed the swimming pool but would have liked a longer session. Breakfast was terrific - shame we were only staying overnight - will stay again sometime.
★★★★★
Wonderful stay
We had a wonderful 2 days stay at The Grove. Room 1 is a lovely bright room, comfortable bed, new, well-equipped bathroom, and window seats to enjoy views over the garden. Loved the hotel, and the staff were attentive and welcoming. We spent some time in the little bar and even encountered a little Muntjac enjoying the acorns on the terrace. We greatly enjoyed our dinner and breakfast and would happily stay at The Grove again when visiting Norfolk.
★★★★★
Cannot fault any aspect!
As with every time we have visited, we cannot fault any aspect of this wonderful place, 12/10 for service, choice, atmosphere and the beyond-delicious food.
★★★★★
Looking forward to coming back!
A warm and friendly small hotel. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we walked in. Nothing was too much trouble even when staff were rushing around. This was our first time at The Grove and we booked for the Sunday night special for September, what a great offer and as it was our wedding anniversary, we thought was a great excuse.
★★★★★
Love coming here when we're in Norfolk.
Great food with loads of really tasty choices. The front-of-house team is really friendly and does a brilliant job looking after families and their children like they did for us! Always love coming here when we're in Norfolk.
★★★★★
Could not fault anything
Wonderful 2-night stay at The Grove. All staff super helpful, rooms lovely and clean, nice swimming pool which we used twice during our stay. The food was delicious and my wife who is a coeliac was fully catered for too. Our children all loved the hotel too which is family friendly. Excellent location too to explore Cromer and to use as a base to explore Norfolk. Could not fault anything about our stay here. Thank you so much to all staff.
★★★★★
Brilliant staff excelled themselves
We have just arrived home following our wedding reception held at The Grove on Thursday. Words cannot express how amazing our special day was. From the moment we had the pleasure of meeting Roxanne and the team, we knew we were in expert hands for whom nothing was too much trouble. We had always dreamed of a small personal wedding that was full of love and laughter. The brilliant staff at The Grove excelled themselves to ensure that we received this. Our food was of the highest standard possible for both the adult and children guests, locally sourced and supported by their own garden produce. Guests who stayed at the hotel, chose a variety of high-standard accommodation including cottages, garden and hotel rooms, enjoying delicious breakfasts the following mornings. Sundown’s menu of tapas/pizza in the evenings were of the same high standard. We could go on and on .... Huge Thank you to everyone.... we will return and so will our guests. Chrissie and Paul xxx

Stunning place, exceptional room, very quiet - perfect for a relaxing getaway
The hotel was situated in a beautiful location, surrounded by trees. Fantastic old building and the grounds were very well kept. Our room was stunning and so peaceful/quiet so there was no problem getting a good night's sleep. The teas and coffees were well stocked. The coffee pot was such a lovely touch. Nothing could have been better. Although, we didn't stay for breakfast (might try that next time).

A great place to stay, close to beach and town and yet quiet and peaceful. Swimming pool was lovely too. I wish we had been staying for longer than just one night, but there's always a next time! A terrific breakfast as well.

Excellent family room; very enjoyable breakfast and loved the indoor pool Indoor pool (and ability to book for exclusive use) was the highlight for our kids. The family room was great for 4 of us. Sunday treat at The Grove in Cromer
I was given a Voucher for The Grove’s Special Sunday stay as a Mothering Sunday present. Hence we had the treat of not only B and B but also a 3-course dinner with a bottle of Prosecco - which was thoughtfully chilling in our room on arrival! The reception desk was very welcoming and Room 8 was spotless (thank you housekeeping staff) and well-equipped…what a glorious bathroom! So much space and good toiletries too. We booked a 5pm swim and were delighted to have the pool to ourselves. We visited the vegetable garden which was super impressive …whoever knew that one could grow red celery? The dinner menu was so imaginative and all three courses exceeded our expectations ….the chef was certainly on form …..tastes and presentation were excellent and the waiting staff were friendly and helpful. Ingredients appeared to be of the highest quality….we savoured it all as the combinations of flavours were well chosen and delicious. We loved the feeling that the Grove is a family-run concern and not a “chain product”….so refreshing. We appreciate that it is a team effort to run a great hotel. I would recommend The Grove to anyone and we certainly plan to return.
★★★★★
Very smart and well-kept hotel
As a solo traveller, I am always a little nervous about trying somewhere new. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel. The room was very well appointed, some single rooms can be very small. Room 12 was not. A very pleasant lounge and dining room in what is a very smart and well-kept hotel. The chance to have a swim in the pool was an added bonus. Quite possibly the best-cooked breakfast I have had in a long time.
★★★★★
Absolutely loved our stay

★★★★★
Absolutely loved it

Charming and welcoming
The Grove is a very charming and welcoming place. We felt very special and were attentively looked after. All the staff went above and beyond their everyday duties, especially when we experienced one of our party's unfortunate and unexpected bout of ill health. They all helped and could not do enough for us. I would recommend this hotel not just for the ambience and beautiful surroundings but the kind, respectful and very professional, caring attitude shown towards us all. I look forward to booking a vacation to stay at some point. Well done The Grove: 5 Stars.
★★★★★
Highly recommend
Where to start....a beautiful setting with a short stroll through the woods and onto the cliff tops with only a short walk from Cromer Pier. The Grove itself is a warm, inviting building with a lovely history to it. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating and the food, well, what a meal, absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend a stay at The Grove.
★★★★★
So good we booked another stay as soon as we got home
Peaceful, secluded surroundings and yet just a 15-minute walk into Cromer, either by coastal path or roadside path. The staff were really nice and welcoming. Our Orchard chalet was comfy, well-equipped, clean and warm and the restaurant food was fabulous. Just a lovey place for a short break. We liked it so much we booked another stay as soon as we got back home.

Lovely period hotel, lovely room no. 5. Food is absolutely excellent.

Great find
Great find - staff helpful and friendly. Our room (one of the Orchard Rooms) was comfortable and loved the outside seating area in front of our room. The 40’s/50’s background music in the restaurant gave it a great atmosphere. Food was fabulous and well presented, though would have liked to see a change of menu every couple of days. Breakfast was generous with plenty of choice. All together a great ‘little’ hotel.
★★★★★
Quality
We felt cared for - kind and attentive staff, good food and quality accommodation.

Wonderful
Unfortunately, we only stayed for one night. We regret that because we had to leave so early, we could only enjoy a small breakfast. But this was excellent. The hotel is amazing. Beautiful rooms, the whole location is wonderful. Thank you so much. We will definitely come back and stay longer.
★★★★★
Couldn’t have found a better place to stay
Thank you for a very enjoyable stay. Food excellent, all staff were very pleasant and helpful and the grounds magnificent! The afternoon tea was wonderful. Shame we didn’t have time to use the swimming pool (maybe another time!). Couldn’t have found a better place to stay and celebrate our anniversary. Thank you.

Simply Stunning
There is no bigger accolade of thanks and appreciation, than word of mouth #advertising and #promotion. YOU WERE SIMPLY AMAZING! From welcome and checking in, to the hospitality and service, the bedroom, the pool, food, was just exceptional. Stunning gardens, and choice of onsite accommodation. It felt so intimate, we felt appreciated, and looked after. Highly recommended and worthy of awards for service and customer care.

★★★★★
Very pleasant stay
Thank you, we had a very pleasant stay. The grounds are lovely and it was a joy to see the homegrown veg go from garden to plate. We enjoyed reading about the history of The Grove and would love to see some farm animals return to the site, or a resident cat prowling the gardens...
★★★★★
Relaxing and a welcome time to recharge, and destress. The Grove has a calmness to it.
The welcome and check-in was very relaxed and hassle-free. I feel the staff have the measure of what their customers need. No pressure. Time to relax. We were able to grab the last 20 mins of our swimming session on arrival, pre-booked. As we were running late. I was given the code to the pool quickly, so my husband could access the pool ASAP with our Autistic son, who needed to swim after the long journey to avoid a meltdown. This was our third visit - we will be back in 2024.
★★★★★
Will definitely stay again
I have had a wonderful one-night stay at The Grove. The room/en-suite was spacious and comfortable (they actually gave me an upgrade from a single to a double room at no extra cost). The team explained instructions to walk to the beach (5-10 minutes through the woodland and down some steps direct to the beach ... amazing!!). The swimming pool was bookable (single occupancy) and a wonderful end to my stay, having an enjoyable and tranquil dip before breakfast. Very good value for money, I will definitely stay again.
★★★★★
Love staying at The Grove

Amazing time, as always
We booked the stay at the Grove as a birthday present for our friends, having stayed there many times ourselves. We are so glad we did - we had an amazing time, as always. Our friends loved their accommodation (the Honey Pippin), they enjoyed the bar, the Sundown Restaurant and the breakfast. The best moment was when they said they would definitely be returning!

Found The Grove on the 'Cool Places' website and what a cool place it is. We stayed in one of the Orchard rooms which was just lovely. There's a small but relaxing lounge with a widely stocked bar. The food was excellent - dinner, as well as breakfast. The staff are all very friendly and a credit to the hotel. Couldn't fault it at all and would highly recommend.

Really nice hotel in good location
Staff all very helpful, including the night porter. Great location for a walk into Cromer and along the coast. Breakfast was very nice too.

Gem of a country house - relaxing luxury stay
Luxurious room, comfortable large bed. Very Friendly staff. The chef prepared a vegan evening meal for my wife. Beautiful surroundings. Lovely swim in the pool before breakfast. Relaxing stay.

Would recommend
Really enjoyed our Afternoon Tea at The Grove. When booking the staff were very helpful as I am Dairy free and Gluten Free which makes these things a bit more difficult to arrange, but it wasn't a problem. There was a choice of Soya, Almond and Coconut milk to choose from which I have found a first from the places I have been. There was a good choice of cakes for me. I couldn't eat all of them so asked for a paper napkin and was given a lovely box to take what I couldn't eat home with me. Husband ate all of his. Would recommend. Thank you very much.

Would most definitely stay again
I have stayed recently at the Grove and would most definitely stay again. The staff was helpful and friendly, the room was good and really enjoyed the breakfast, as the range of food was varied and of an excellent quality.

A stunning meal to remember!
A one-night stay but definitely somewhere we would like to come back to! Having a gourmet meal voucher to use, we chose The Grove because of its accessible location for an overnight stay. Friendly staff greeted us, the room was small but comfortable and walking proximity to the coast all combined to give a good impression. However, the food was definitely the talking point! A long time since we have enjoyed such a tasty menu and the fact that so many ingredients were from the garden was an added bonus. Thank you.

Our fourth stay!
From the character and history of the building which is shared with the guests to the friendly staff and lovely rooms, the well-kept grounds and superb location all made another pleasurable stay (our fourth) at the Grove.
