Lovingly restored by volunteers, some of whom used to work for British Rail, the steam and diesel trains of the North Norfolk Railway operate along the five miles of track that lead southwest from Sheringham to the market town of Holt. The journey takes just 20 minutes, time enough to enjoy the billowing smoke and rattling carriages.
