A mere 300 metres from Lowfield House, the owners' other fabulous rental property, is this lovingly and thoughtfully renovated chalet-style holiday home, sleeping up to eight guests across the main house and an adjoining annex, plus room for your pets in the 'Dog Hotel'. In 2026, VisitEngland awarded Wetherlam View 5 stars for self-catering, and 'Gold' for exceptional quality of accommodation and customer service, and it's easy to see why: the Lake District setting is spectacular, and the accommodation is stylish all the way.
Upon entering, take in the double-height hallway before checking out the fully-equipped kitchen that leads to a dining space with an eight-seater table. From the bifold doors that open onto the patio, enjoy glorious south-facing views of Wetherlam Fell, Swirl How and the Tilberthwaite Valley.
On the first floor, the contemporary 40-square-metre lounge boasts seating galore and floor-to-ceiling 4.5-metre bifold doors that open to a private balcony, where you can savour more of those jaw-dropping panoramas. Additional features will no doubt catch your eye: a Planika net-zero open-flame fireplace with BEV technology, a characterful wooden beam running the width of the room, and a 75-inch Smart TV; there's underfloor heating, too. This level is also home to a pair of bedrooms: the master, where décor-wise, you'll notice pops of colour, plus a capacious, fully tiled en-suite with a spacious walk-in shower, as well as a twin room in hues of green, grey and blue with a shower en-suite. Both bathrooms have underfloor heating.
Upstairs again, you'll discover the third bedroom – a double, decked out in soothing muted tones with interconnecting stairs that lead down to a dedicated bathroom with a bath/shower.
Travelling as a group of eight? Make the most of the annex that comes complete with a small living area with patio doors leading outside, a bathroom with a shower, and a twin bedroom upstairs.
But that's not all: at ground level back at the main property, you'll find a cinema/games room with an 85-inch Samsung Smart TV and an ArcadeMAX Orion Coffee Table Arcade Machine, a spacious utility room with professional dog grooming facilities, plus a sauna. Access is via external doors.
Ideally positioned in the heart of Little Langdale, the countryside setting is tranquil, yet there's plenty to do within easy reach, whether it's strolling 30 metres to the Three Shires Inn, walking the 5.1-kilometre Slater's Bridge, Tilberthwaite and Hodge Close loop, or driving to Coniston Water for canoeing. You're pretty much in the midpoint of the Lake District, level with Ambleside and the northern tip of Windermere (7.5 kilometres to the west), so the National Park is waiting to be explored. But if you need any advice, the knowledgeable owners are on hand with tips.
Alfred Wainwright famously described the square mile between Tilberthwaite and Langdale as “one of the loveliest in Lakeland”. At its very centre lies the hamlet of Little Langdale – a truly special setting within the Lake District National Park and UNESCO Site. Indeed, the Langdales were instrumental in the area receiving World Heritage status.
Back at Wetherlam View, if you've brought Fido along, the pièce de résistance is yet to come: the Dog Hotel, accessible from the entrance hallway. Carefully designed with "canine comfort in mind," there's underfloor heating and dimmable mood lighting, plus bowls, towels, a doggie first aid kit, a welcome pack and a luxe George Barclay bed.
