The swish bedrooms at this boutique hotel feature signature white headboards, goose down duvets and pillows, Egyptian cotton bed linen, toiletries from Arran Aromatics on Scotland's west coast and a wash of bespoke art.
Further neat touches include complimentary home baked muffins on arrival and free daily newspapers. Book ahead to snare a room with a great view of Edinburgh Castle. The Rutland is also home to The Huxley, one of the city's better bars, who mix a mean mojito and also conjure up their own Edinburgh Gin laced 'Huxley Harpoon'.
