What better than alighting at a London Underground station and having just a one minute walk to your hotel: the East London Hotel offers just that, being only sixty seconds from Bethnal Green tube. Directly behind the building sits Paradise Row, a stretch of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes, from inventive tipples at London Cocktail Club and an array of beers at Mother Flipper to wine and Italian plates at Sagar + Wilde and Venezulean dishes at Arepa and Co.

The hotel itself is home to a casual eatery where breakfast and light bites are served, alongside a selection of beverages. Each room comes with air con, a safe, Nespresso coffee machine, 43” smart TV, custom-made mattress by British company Millbrooks, power shower and USB charging points. Their compact doubles are a super affordable option (twins are available too), whilst Premium Doubles offer more space and are accessible too. Travelling with your loved one and children or with a group? Opt for a Family room with interconnecting doors. Style-wise, it's modern all the way, with splashes of colour on feature walls and original artwork.

There are pubs galore in the surrounding area (we like The Camel, The Florist and the Sun Tavern), or for more something a bit fancier stop in at Satan's Whiskers, a quirky bar just by the hotel. London Fields is a short stroll away – head there on a Saturday and check out Broadway Market with its street food and artisan stalls. Come Sunday, nearby Columbia Road is home to a flower market and also houses a host of independent shops. Fancy a scenic walk? Victoria Park and Regent's Canal are within easy ambling distance. This really is an excellent, not to mention great value place to stay – east London has much to offer, and the hotel is just short train ride from the centre of the capital too.
