Wander into the cobbled square where this upscale spot is situated and be greeted by a welcoming gastropub that serves an eclectic mix of food, and also has a secret garden and boutique rooms. Dating back to 1729 when it went by the name of The Malster, the pub reopened in 2013 after a hefty refurb. Now owned by the Jolly Fine Pub Group, it's part of a small London collection that also includes The Fox & Grapes and The Victoria.
Chef Director Paul Merrett has created a menu that fuses Modern British with Mediterranean: expect dishes such as beetroot carpaccio with feta and pine nut salad, roasted corn fed chicken with dauphinoise, purple broccoli and mustard cream sauce, alongside fish and chips and good burgers. Not only is the food top-notch, diners can book in to one of the six modern bedrooms upstairs and enjoy pastel tones, king size beds and complimentary homemade cookies and water. Oh, and continental breakfast is included in the rate too.
Step outside the gastropub and it's just a 5-minute walk to Fulham Broadway tube, plus guests are well-located for Earls Court, Olympia, Kew Gardens and Chelsea football stadium, and within walking distance of a number of eateries, including the Michelin-starred Harwood Arms.
