Luxury Glamping Pods and a Gypsy Caravan in a stunning location on the edge of the Peak District
Situated on the edge of the Peak District National Park, Hoe Grange is a working farm run by David and Felicity Brown. It's close to some of the best walking and biking the region has to offer, and it has a wide range of accommodation that would suit just about anyone, from a set of self-catering log cabins to these gorgeous glamping options. It's dog-friendly, horse-friendly, and award-winningly sustainable, too. This is glamping with a touch of luxury: book Skylark pod to make the most of the chic outdoor bath area, with views over the hills directly from the tub, or add the secluded wood-fired hot tub or Swedish barrel sauna to your booking as an extra.
Hoe Grange's glamping accommodation consists of two beautifully-designed pods and a romantic gypsy caravan for two called Rosehip, which was renovated in 2024. The glamping pods are completely self-sufficient and self-contained, with their own spacious en-suite shower and toilet facilities, a kitchenette with a hob and microwave and a king-size sofa bed. There's heating, WiFi and electricity, so you'll be able to charge your phone and enjoy the sunset from the outside decking while cooking dinner on the barbecue or toasting marshmallows around the firepit. Dogs are welcome and even get their own welcome pack, as do humans..
The pods are perfect and very cosy spaces for two, but the vintage gypsy caravan is a notch up on the romantic scale. You can't bring your dog, but it's charming and inviting, decorated with floral patterns and with a pull-out double bed, electricity, WiFi and bench seating with cushions, plus a luxury shower and kitchenette across the farmyard. There's also a firepit and outside seating for evenings around the campfire.
As for things to do, you are spoilt for choice. You could happily spend your time mooching around the farm, visiting the goats and other animals, but it would be a pity not to explore further. There's a choice of footpaths and bridleways, the closest of which is the High Peak Trail, which is just a field away, and the farm has its own stables and plenty of grazing so you can bring your own horse if you have one. There are also bikes for guest use, and a couple e-bikes for hire, and by car you can easily reach some of the Peak District National Park's best known attractions – Dovedale and its stepping stones, the Tissington Trail, which follows an old rail line from Buxton to Ashbourne, and the appealing towns of Ashbourne and Bakewell, are all just a short drive away.
