Who would have thought that Hastings - well, St Leonards to be precise – would be the home of one of the most romantic hideaways in the whole of the UK. Not us (and we love the south coast), yet the enigmatically titled No 5 The Lawn is perhaps the ultimate place to stay for a couple who are, ahem, romantically involved, tucked away down a private road of Mary Poppins-style Georgian villas and as discreet as you like. It's basically a five-star hotel for two, in a great position, just a short walk from the sea in sleepy St Leonards – Hastings' quirky suburb. It's so comfortable and well-equipped, though, that you may not want go out, with a super-king-size bed and slickly furnished sitting room, a small indoor pool with remote-controlled waterfall, a fabulous steam room with high-end unguents of all kinds and a cinema room with a giant TV connected to Netflix and Apple TV, so you can watch more or less any film that comes into your head. There's also a couple-sized hot tub and hot shower on the terrace outside. Just to remind you that you haven't died and gone to heaven, breakfast is served to you in the morning, but otherwise you can prepare whatever you want in the well-appointed kitchen or order in from the owners' tame chef. Are we still in St Leonard's, darling?

Amazing!

Just back from the most amazing stay. The host is friendly and welcoming and nothing is to much trouble. Had the most spectacular breakfast. Highly recommended and will be back, can't wait till the next time 😀
