This is the place to brush up on all things Rye. Orientate yourself by getting a gull’s eye view of a scale model of the town along with a run down on 700 years of Rye’s history. There are even audio guides to take you on a walking tour around the town and old-time penny arcade games to keep the kids amused. Even the building itself, an old sail loft on Strand Quay, is redolent of the town’s maritime past. As well as being a mini-museum this is also a good place to use as a first pit-stop enroute to seeing the town. The staff are extremely knowledgable and can provide all the local information you need to get you started on your stay. They also offer and accomodation booking service.
