We think Magazine Wood is pretty special. With its wonderful North Norfolk location it already has a lot going for it, but what makes this property really stand out from the crowd is its USP – a charming country B&B that also offers the things we love about a boutique hotel, such as privacy and a high level of service. Talk about the best of both worlds! Just a few miles from the coast (on a clear day you can see across the Wash to Lincolnshire), this award-winning bolthole is a place to escape, somewhere you can really relax and switch off.
The three luxurious suites are completely self-contained; they all enjoy a private entrance and views to the large manicured garden, and each room is stylishly decorated – you'll find soothing colours, tasteful fabrics and super comfy beds. There's a fridge stocked with essentials, a sofa and dining table, binoculars for bird watching, Netflix and a much lauded in-room concierge service – namely your own iPad to cater for all your needs, from ordering breakfast to downloading a newspaper and planning great days out. For the technophobes among you, just pick up the phone – owners Jonathan and Pip are always on hand.
Fancy a spa treatment? They've got you covered: you can be pampered in the comfort of your own room. But if you prefer to get out and about, there's plenty to do – shop at Burnham Market, visit nearby grand stately homes Houghton Hall and Sandringham, or head out for a scenic walk. Go north out of the gate onto the Peddars Way national trail and the breathtaking views will take you to the quiet beach of Holme-next-Sea; stroll west for 15 minutes and you'll reach the village of Sedgeford, where you can pop into the King William for a pint and a bite to eat (if you've got a sweet tooth don't miss the chocolate and coffee tart). Back at your suite, grab a glass of wine or a beer from the fridge, sit out on the terrace and enjoy the sunset – they’re pretty spectacular in this part of the country.

From King’s Lynn go north on the A149 towards Hunstanton and at Heacham turn right onto Sedgeford Road. Go through Sedgeford village and at the top of the hill look for a chapel style building, Magazine Cottage, on the left hand side. The turning onto Peddars Way and up to Magazine Wood is immediately before this building up a narrow road. Use PE36 5LW in your SatNav, which gets you to Magazine Cottage.
