The Cormorant Hotel

Situated just upriver from Fowey, the Cormorant Hotel is the perfect place to escape the bustling summer crowds and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the beautiful estuary. Perhaps it’s not the most chic of hotels, but the rooms are lovely with amazing views of the river (try to get one with a balcony). The food is excellent and, since Mary Tozer recently bought and refurbished the hotel, there's an increasing number of repeat bookings, both for the hotel and for the restaurant. There's a decent sized indoor pool and hot tub too, with an outdoor terrace and fabulous views. Do note, though, no under 13s allowed.
