Above a delightfully old-fashioned pub, this quaint B&B comprises six cheery en-suite rooms with comfortable beds, plenty of light and a touch of antique style. It's won a stack of awards – The Independent reckoned it one of the 50 best British B&Bs – and it's certainly a great base for seeing the city on a budget.
Breakfast is a high point, with fresh flowers on tables, a selection of fresh fruit, cereals and yoghurts and the fullest of 'full English' : Kippers, bacon butties, scrambled egg and porridge. There's free off-street parking which is a plus in town renowned for its lack of street parking space
