There are some places for which the phrase 'pub with rooms' isn't really enough, and that's the case with the Georgian Townhouse. It's an amiable pub, with, er, rooms, and occupies a central location in the heart of Norwich's coolest district, the so-called 'Golden Triangle'. As a focal point for the neighbourhood, it serves drinks and food, has function rooms and hosts weddings. And it also happens to be one of the city's nicest places to stay, with a selection of stylish rooms, suites and apartments. In a city not exactly well endowed with good places to stay, it's well worth checking out.

First the accommodation, which is a mixture of rooms and apartments with small kitchens, and thus very flexible, The rooms in the main building are extremely well thought-out, packed full with the very best brands – Smeg fridge, Roberts Radio, Nespresso coffee machine – along with Smart TVs and slick mid-century furnishings. Most are what they call 'Cosy Doubles', which despite the name are decent sizes and come with en-suite bathrooms with either walk-in shower or a shower over a bath; 'Comfy' doubles have a shower and bath and a bit more space for in-room seating. A notch up from this, housed in a building across the street, are the apartments, which come with a small kitchenette with microwave and toaster, and vary from small affairs suitable for two to the 'Colonel's Suite', which has three floors and can accommodate up to five people. All the apartments are beautifully kitted out with everything you could need for a self-catered stay in the city.

Food-wise, the pub does a bit of everything, from hearty breakfasts to lunch, dinner and afternoon teas in between. Local produce features highly, from Brancaster oysters and mussels to ales from their sister brewpub in town, and the service is as relaxed and friendly as you would expect from a pub in this neighbourhood. Meanwhile the pleasures of Norwich's handsome city centre are a five-minute walk away, not to mention multiple attractions just outside the city.

Our Comfy Double Bedrooms located on the first floor of our Georgian Townhouse, one of which comes complete with a large balcony to enjoy those alfresco moments, come with a cosy lounge area with sofa bed option and a large and luxurious bathroom with the the option of a walk-in shower or separate bath, perfect for individuals, couples or small families looking to enjoy a break in style.

Located a stone’s throw away, across the road from The Georgian Townhouse we have our Comfy Apartments which consist of a kitchenette, lounge area, bedroom & shower, or bathroom. These apartments offer variety, some airy with high ceilings and other more snug and quainter. All are charming and ooze the same vintage vibe of the main house. Our Comfy Apartments are fitting for couples, small families, corporate guests enjoying more of a home away from home stay.

Our Superior Room, The Nest consists of a large lounge area separate to the bedroom allowing you to really stretch out. The lounge is vast in size with French doors opening onto a small roof top balcony. The beautiful bedroom boasts a lavish ensuite with walk in shower & separate bath. The quirky & rustic feel is evident throughout our gorgeous Nest, perfect for small families or couples celebrating special occasions.
