Electric Eel

How Hill Ludham Norfolk NR29 5PG

One of the reason to visit How Hill is to take a ride on the silent wildlife-spotting boat, the Electric Eel, which leaves from the staithe just beyond Toad Hole Cottage's shop and Broads Information Centre. Run by the Broads Authority, these last just under an hour and are an absolute delight, taking you deep into the marshes on the far side of the Ant, a beautiful trip through narrow channels and dykes fringed by high reeds. You get out to walk (or sometimes wade) to nearby Reedham Water, where you can spot birds from a hide, and the guide provides binoculars and lots of background on the wildlife and unique vegetation you can see.
