The Wildings
UK England South West England Gloucestershire Bourton-on-the-Water
- 6 Pods, 4 Bell Tents, 2 Yurts
- Perfect for Families
With a tremendous position on a half-acre sliver of land surrounded by fields close to Bourton-on-the-Water, The Wildings is a desirable glamping site in its own right, and a perfect base for seeing The Cotswolds. This little glamping paradise village was set up by owner Kim when she was pregnant – and it shows. It’s a lovely spot for everyone but perfect for young families, with each unit sleeping up to a family of five. The pods, tents and yurts are warm and weatherproof, and can be tailored to your needs. Bringing a baby? Add the cot bundle. Camping as a couple? How about booking a celebration hamper? Plus there's an on-site Cook House with a well-equipped communal kitchen, along with comfy seating and books to browse. An on-site farm shop provides tasty produce while there are also a couple of mobile pizza ovens available to hire.
As for the accommodation, there are six camping pods, each with insulation, heating, lights, and electricity, four seasonal bell tents, and two yurts. You can book the pods with camping mats-only, for what must surely be one of the best-value, all-season stays in the area, or ramp up the luxury by adding from a range of extras, customising your own glamping experience with beds, linen and towels, campfire cooking kits and tableware. The bell tents offer boutique camping for a family or four adults, illuminated by solar-powered fairy lights and lanterns. There's a campfire in a private garden for evening meals, and each tent has access to its own barbecue and benches. Finally there are the yurts, which are off-grid and lit up by solar-powered lighting, each kept warm with the addition of a small and efficient wood-burning stove.
A sign in reception recommends “You should sit in nature for 20 minutes a day... unless you are busy, then you should sit for an hour", and we can't deny that The Wildings is a terrific place to do just that, while enjoying a campfire and watching the bats, while the kids play on the climbing frame. However, lovely as it is, The Wildings is also a great base for the Cotswolds and it s numerous attractions, with picturesque, riverside Bourton-on-the-Water just a mile away and home to sights like Birdworld and The Cotswold Motoring Museum, as well as numerous tearooms, inns and cafes. There’s enough to keep you occupied for a week around here, and the site is also well connected with footpaths as well as roads leading out to the rolling hills and other pristine villages that the region is so famous for.

We think our extras make us super special! There are a few of them but it means that we appeal to hardened, experienced campers through to those who have never camped before or, like myself, you're a parent who loves the experience of camping and making our kids so happy but the thought of packing up the entire house and the washing/drying of a tent etc etc fills you with utter dread (you are not alone!) then this is the place for you!Suitable For
Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway, a break from busy city life or a relaxing family holiday, we think it is the perfect location right in the very heart of the gorgeous Cotswolds!!
We love all nice pets and love having them to stay.
Nearby
We are in the very heart of The Cotswolds, there is so much going on here and its a great place to be whatever the weather. On a summers day a wander down into the village of Bourton-on-the-Water (1 mile away) to the Model Village followed by a paddle in the River Windrush and fish chips on the waters edge followed by glass of wine round by the campfire with friends, or a breezy autumn day at the local National Trust Sherborne Estate (4 miles away) followed by a chilli con carne cooked in the Kotlich with baked potatoes in the embers

The Owner Says
We want to give all our guests an amazing experience while staying with us, therefore we have designed our site to give you the best value for money, while also offering lots of options, so you can make it the perfect break for you.
We want to take any hassle out of camping for you and so have created a 'design your own holiday' campsite.
We have grass camping pitches, camping pods, tipis, and yurts.
Utterly simple and tailor made for you
We also offer a relaxing Cookhouse for all our guests to share; there is a full kitchen, two fridges, sofas, games, books, and all sorts of other things to make your stay comfortable.
We have an amazing fully stocked Farm Shop on site with everything you need for your stay, along with a fabulous little coffee shop and a miniature old fashioned traditional sweet shop!
For children, we have 2 fantastic little play areas to keep them busy while you make supper or relax with a book!
When you arrive you'll be met by one of us, we'll show you around and you'll get a solar fairy light lantern (not for camping pitches). Our communal area is lit at night but our paths aren't - we're not that big though so you can't get too lost!! Feel free to ask us lots of questions we are local and very happy to help with ideas and suggestions for days out.
Once you're settled come for a shop to grab everything you need in our farm shop, enjoy a coffee from our amazing mechanical coffee machine, it takes a bit longer to make coffee than a big commercial machine but enjoy watching the lever slowly pour the water through the coffee, take a deep breath and relax. You're on holiday! Let the kids loose in our miniature old fashioned sweet shop where they can weigh out some old school favourites or let them grab a milkshake for themselves with milk from our local diary whilst you shop
