The Owner Says

With lovely countryside views across to the South Downs, the House on Brooks itself can sleep up to 14 guests in four large bedrooms, each of which has at least one double bed and sometimes a couple of single beds too.  The decor of each follows a theme, with canopied beds transported from Rajasthan, baths made out of boats, art nouveau carved nymphs and arts-and-crafts beams and carpentry.

It has four large boutique themed bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms. You can enjoy your own private garden, with firepit and stone paved patium.

At the heart of the house is the large, Saxon-inspired communal hall. Open to the roof rafters, and with magical landscape views across the brooks to the South Downs.   Have fun in, and explore the area around the perfect venue for your house party.

The Classic Room

This majestic room has the pre-revolutionary luxury of Paris at its most expressive and romantic. The double-height room features a pair of striking Art Nouveau castings, which only distract momentarily from the delightful landscape view through your Full length French doors.

The Arts and Crafts Room

Inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement that flourished internationally in the late 19th century A pause from the rush into industrialism, the Celtic and ‘back to nature’ inspiration of the movement whose stanza "The loving eye, and the skillfull hand" nutrured the connection between artisan and material.

The Indian Room

The exotically themed double-height Indian room is abundant with spiritual and physical energy. Its sensuous, rich ornamentations will take you back to the days of the Raj.

The Boat Room

The exotically themed double-height Indian room is abundant with spiritual and physical energy. Sensuous, rich architectural salvage ornamentation will take you back to the days of the Raj. Big double Bed from Rajastan. Re-claimed Minton Floor tiles in the bathroom continues the regal Oriental theme.

Getting There

House on the Brooks is easy to reach by car: just follow the A24 from Horsham and follow the signs to Pulborough and then Hardham; the property is well signposted, just don't be put off by the slightly inauspicious entry road. It's also a good place to go car-free: you're only 3 miles from Pulborough train station, from which there are regular taxis or the owners will pick you if you arrange it in advance.
