The Olde House

UK England South West England Cornwall Wadebridge Padstow

Chapel Amble Wadebridge Cornwall PL27 6EN

Situated on a 550-acre farm that’s been in the Hawkey family for three generations, The Olde House is a cluster of 30 self-catering cottages ideal for family and group holidays. Hot on the eco-tourism front, many of the cottages are powered by solar energy, there’s a free electric car charge point and a bird-hide, from where waders, wildfowl and rare migrating species can be spotted. Sleeping between 2 and 8 guests, these aren’t posh or super-chic lodgings but converted barns offering traditional, country-cottage style accommodation where you can make yourself at home. Based in the quiet village of Chapel Amble, you’ve got Padstow, Wadebridge, The Camel Trail and the glorious coast of North Cornwall on your doorstep, but there’s also plenty to keep you occupied back at the farm: pet’s corner, a farm trail, the bird hide overlooking 15 acres of wetlands, a large indoor pool complex, indoor and outdoor adventure playgrounds, a snooker table and tennis courts. With the excellent Maltsters Arms in the village you don’t even have to stray into Padstow to experience the excellent local foodie scene (babysitting can be arranged so you can enjoy an evening out). Dogs are allowed in some of the cottages at a small extra charge. Free wifi.
