The Ebrington Arms
UK England South West England Gloucestershire Chipping Campden
- 5 Guest Rooms
- Cosy Country Inn
It would be a challenge to find a pub more bucolic than the Ebrington Arms. Dating from the 1640s this idyllic-looking inn backs on to rolling pastures at the edge of the tucked-away village of Ebrington near handsome Chipping Campden in the north Cotswolds. Complete with inglenook fireplace, exposed beams and settles crafted from old beer barrels, it emanates warmth and is very much a village hub - which gives it tremendous local spirit. This is an epicurean, field-to-fork place; you can practically see many of the kitchen ingredients arriving from the outlying farmland. The largely organic menu offers such seasonal joys as stuffed courgettes with heritage tomatoes, and guinea fowl with miso-glazed white asparagus. The owners even make their own ales; the Yubberton range sits alongside the carefully selected choice of beers at the bar. To one side of the property is a pretty walled garden and a dining terrace. Upstairs are five rustic-chic bedrooms mainly decorated in soothing cream and taupe; room 2 (the smallest) has a cast-iron bed, the others have handcrafted oak beds made for each space. For the best views opt for Room 4.
