It's certainly not your average hostel accommodation – Stratford's YHA is housed in a fabulous Georgian mansion set in its own extensive grounds, just a mile and a half out of town. You'll struggle to find better value for money in one of England's most touristed areas.
There are 132 beds in all, ranged across 32 dorms, private and family rooms, and fully half of the rooms are en-suite. Two or three have got double beds too, though you'll want to make sure that's what you're getting when you book as they are in high demand. Out in the grounds, camping pods and bell tents offer a bit of glamping glam – pods with a private deck, bell tents with wood-burners, all with proper beds for a decent night's sleep.
There are meals served and a licensed bar, plus self-catering facilities within the hostel, as well as a number of nearby pubs and restaurants just a few minutes' walk away in Tiddington and Alveston. There's on-site parking and free wifi in communal areas, while the bus into Stratford stops just outside the hostel and takes 10 minutes into town.

From Stratford-upon-Avon: at Clopton Bridge take the B4086 Wellesbourne Road, and follow the hostel signs. The hostel is 1.5 miles on the left. From the M40: at junction 15 take the A429 south, follow signs to Charlecote Park, then turn right onto the B4086 – the hostel is 1.5 miles on the right.
