The Highdown Inn
UK England South East England Isle Of Wight Freshwater
Tucked away on the western tip of the island, this simple B&B and pub makes up for relatively basic accommodation with fantastic seafood in the bar-restaurant and a way with bacon in the mornings that will make you beg for seconds. Both the owners and staff are unpretentious and welcoming, making their pub a real favourite with locals as well as walkers and cyclists passing through. There’s a fine quiz night on Sundays, real ales on tap and a roaring fire through the winter months. Keep an eye on the daily blackboard for seasonal meals, particularly their game specialities.

friendly, lovely food, good wine and beer.
we first ate there 3 years ago with our daughter and it was very welcoming and cracking food.this july my wife and i returned and we felt very welcome and the food, wine and beer was great. the landlord and team are interested in you and try hard to please. Although its a 200 mile trip for us , I would travel that far just for the Pavlova. I hope they are all still there next time we visit the Island.
