Just off the main road that runs through the small village of Letheringsett and just a few miles outside Holt, the King's Head is as comfy and welcoming a pub as you could wish for. Recently refurbished, its food is excellent and always available: nothing fancy, just a few pub classics (fish and chips, steaks, burgers), sandwiches and a straightforward kids' menu, along with a few more slightly more exotic items – pork belly, scallops – and if we have a reservation it's that the prices are slightly on the high side. Still, there's a large garden to enjoy in summer, crammed with things to do for the kids, and always a good choice of local ales on tap. And rooms upstairs are comfy and good value, starting at £90 a night for B&B.
