Tucked under the flyover, Makan serves unpretentious Malaysian food to the mixed passing trade – many tourists don't make it this far, but the curries here are definitely worth the walk. It has the feel of a café rather than a restaurant, but don't be put off by the humble surroundings: the food is tasty, simple, and fresh, and served by friendly staff. Prices are equally down to earth, making this an under-appreciated bargain. There have all the staples of Malaysian cuisine of course, and the nasi lemak and satay ayam are in particular good for a snack; if you're feeling hungry, and more adventurous, try the breaded crab claw.
