This colourful little café and cake shop is a famous spot now, and used to be the epicentre of a thriving Portuguese community here, but the area has changed around it, so that the Portuguese places are now matched by similar numbers of Moroccan restaurants. Still a great place to eat though, and definitely worth the walk from Notting HIll Gate, with good coffee and fabulous Pastéis de Nata (custard tarts) as well as sandwiches and hot dishes. There's nowhere better on a sunny afternoon when you can sit outside and watch the world go by.
