This classy pub reeks vintage style with its eclectic, quirky furnishings and stately air of faded grandeur. It's far from pretentious, though, with friendly staff and a high quality range of drinks and pub meals, and one of the area's only beer gardens – which is both sheltered and heated. The bar caters for all drinkers with four regularly-changing real ales, nine different beers and lagers on tap and a cracking wine list. Homemade soft drinks are available in summer, while winter sees the Devonshire dishing out one of London's heartiest mulled wines. The food is excellent too, with a daily changing menu, featuring seasonal specials based on ingredients chosen from artisan producers and selected British farms. If you're here for Sunday lunch don't miss the 21-day aged West Country roast beef with fluffy Yorkshires and lashings of gravy.
