A beacon of style, wit and Parisian pizazz on this chain-store-clogged stretch of Long Acre, Les Néréides offers exquisitely playful costume jewellery in a cool-as-can-be corner space. Collections change seasonally, inspired by anything from fairy tales to street fashion, literature, movies and music – the N2 line tends to be a tad funkier/punkier, and cheaper, too (a white rabbit for one ear, a pocket watch for the other, for example, will set you back around £25). Anything from earrings to charm bracelets and watches can be bought here – with prices ranging from £25 to, well, the sky’s the limit. And the packaging is almost as gorgeous as the jewels – pretty printed bags or boxes, suffused with perfumes and layered with feather-soft tissue.
