For those of you who are fans of the Lockside Lounge, you won't be disappointment by its Mexican sister bar. If Lockside is the stylish urban man about town, Chula is the sensual and curvy latina equivalent. Straight up, it's a tequila bar, so don't come for a Vodka Martini or a pint of Carlsberg. Instead, make like the idiot abroad and wet your whistle with avant-garde cocktails like Grapefruit & Habanero or Cucumber & Jalapeno Margaritas. Or sip on Mexico itself with pilsners such as Pacifico and Vienna lager Dos Equis. Venue-wise it's a tad on the dinky side, but it's extremely cosy with seating directly overlooking the Regent's Canal. Now, once you've had a few Mezcal Palomas, you'll probably be in need of a tortilla chip or two. Here's where the real gem of this place shines. The food is great value, delightfully authentic, perfectly portioned and every bite explodes with flavour in your mouth. Our faves include the Orange, Queso Fresco and Pumpkin Seed Salad and the Crispy Fish Taco – but make sure you order lashings of their superb guacamole on the side.
