The favoured approach to the Vicky Arms, as the locals call it, is by punt from the Cherwell Boathouse a couple of miles downstream. For more conventional travellers, come by car and there’s a huge carpark. Next to the huge garden, and the huge views of the river. It’s an ample sized pub, too, with good food and friendly ducks – who’d like crisps.
