Shanklin Villa Aparthotel

There's a choice of eight, super-stylish self-catering apartments at Shanklin Villa, just on the edge of historic Shanklin Old Village, which make a great base for a luxury Isle of Wight stay whatever your party size or requirements. Four of them are luxurious three- or four-bed apartments with sea views and en-suites, hot tubs, and private patios or roof terraces. The other four are bijou one-beds and studios for couples – two of these have sea views (Cadogan and Beatrice), while one is ground-floor accessible. You don't want to miss out on the hot tub though – the four smaller apartments have access to a communal garden, where there's a tub to share.

All the apartments are beautifully appointed – think hardwood floors, leather sofas, high-spec kitchens, Smart TVs, and plenty of room in the larger apartments for communal dining with rooftop and ocean views. The Mountbatten garden apartment is the largest, but it's perhaps the Eversley that makes the biggest splash, with its private roof terrace and six-person tub. Everything you need for your stay is included – you really only need to bring beach towels.

The location is handy for old town strolls, beach walks and clifftop rambles, but maybe the best thing about the villa apartments is their link to the nearby hotels of Luccombe Hall and Luccombe Manor, all under the same family ownership. This means you have free access to the hotels' facilities, namely heated indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna, play areas and games rooms, not to mention the rather lovely restaurant and gardens at Luccombe Hall. You can have breakfast at Luccombe Hall too, if you like.
